The Volkswagen Group has chosen to put a silencer on the 2.0TFSi engine (EA888) IHI turbo, all to attenuate the sound from the turbo.
Forge Motorsport manufactures a solution with a pipe that removes the plastic muffler, partly to remove the plastic pipe and the back pressure that it builds and also to get back the sound from the turbo that works.
In addition to more sound, the Forge Motorsport tube also gives the turbo a nicer climate to work in as it avoids the damper that builds a little back pressure and thus takes a little power, response and builds heat.
In addition, it has been shown that the original plastic damper breaks on cars that have a higher power output.
The Forge Motorsport pipe is made of aluminum and CNC machined.
Fits VAGS 2.0 TFSI EA388 engines with IHI turbo (eg IS20 and IS38)
